From May 27th - June 27th The Provident Bank held it's annual "Our Community Your E-Vote" charitable campaign and SeaCare was selected as one of the beneficiaries. The community decided how to distribute shares of $20,000 given by The Provident Bank Community Foundation by voting for one of 33 participating non-profit organizations. SeaCare received a check for $820 from the campaign and would like to thank all who voted! Click here for more information.

This week, March 14th - March 20th, marks the annual Cover the Uninsured Week and we are honored to take this opportunity to say "Thank You" to our volunteer health professionals. During the annual Cover the Uninsured Week we would like to highlight an important group of over 400 health care professionals that donate their time and services to care for SeaCare participants. In 2009, our volunteers helped more than 2,300 people and donated $1.7 million dollars in health care services. We are proud to work with them and appreciate their support.

The Spirit of New Hampshire is an award handed out by Governor John Lynch to recognize outstanding volunteers in our state. SeaCare is proud to announce their participation in a new Robert Wood Johnson Foundation study analyzing safety net programs for the uninsured in the United States. This study, led by Mark Hall, a researcher and professor of law and public health at Wake Forest University, will look at SeaCare Health Services as a secondary site to help expand on the analysis he is doing of the Project Access program in Buncombe County, NC. SeaCare will be providing some data around cost estimates per patient and services use information. For additional information about this study, please contact the principal investigator, Mark Hall at mhall@wfubmc.edu or 336-716-9807.
SeaCare Health Services recently released its total numbers of donated care for 2008. With the participation of over 400 healthcare professionals in the Medical Access program, 2134 clients received over $1.24 million in donated care. Through the Medication Bridge program, 649 clients received over 4,700 prescriptions totalling over $1.6 million in saved prescription costs. This totals over $2.85 million in donated care and services for 2,783 clients in 2008, setting a record for SeaCare during its 15th year of supporting the uninsured on the Seacoast.

SeaCare received approval from the Town of Exeter to place a SeaCare Health Services sign at the intersection of Portsmouth Avenue (Rte. 108) and Allen Street to help visitors find their office. Read the news article here.
