2009 Three Notch Event Summary

On September 12th, the Three Notch Century bike event was no match for a dedicated group of SeaCare cyclists.  Several of SeaCare’s volunteer providers, including Wendy Gladstone, MD, Alan Gladstone, MD, Eileen Granahan, MD, James Fieseher, MD, James Wilton, DPM and Mark Moses, PhD took to the road to raise money for SeaCare.  They were joined by several SeaCare Staff and Board members, as well as local Olympian, Eric Flaim, who earned a silver medal in speedskating at the 1988 games in Calgary.

The 100-mile ride began in North Conway, NH and included the Kancamagus Highway, Franconia Notch and Crawford Notch.  The event is organized by Northeast Passage in Durham, which provides sports and recreation for people with physical disabilities.  For the past three years, Northeast Passage has welcomed other agencies, such as SeaCare, to participate in their Three Notch Century event.  It’s a great opportunity to share resources to help both non-profits raise more money.  Thanks to SeaCare’s team of 19 riders, almost $14,000 was raised for SeaCare.   Donations are still being accepted and can be made through SeaCare’s website, http://www.seacarehealthservices.org/donors/Donate.html.

SeaCare would also like to thank our wonderful sponsors:  Pediatric Associates of Hampton and Portsmouth, Advanced Diagnostic Imaging, PLLC, and Wheelabrator Technologies, Inc..  We appreciate their continued support!
